Youth Sports | Football

The Greendell Falcons Football Program offers tackle football for youths age 7 to 17 years. We also have a Major program for young adults 18 to 22 years old. We are a member of Football Manitoba which is the governing body for all football in the province. Tackle football has been played out of the Greendell Park Community Centre for well over 30 years and the Falcons program is the longest running minor football program still in existence in the southeast quadrant of the city. Our present boundaries incoroporate the R2J, R2H and R2M postal codes. Residents of these postal codes register to play out of the Greendell Falcons Football Program.

Children from age 7 to 14 years fall under “minor football” and are governed by the Manitoba Minor Football Association (MMFA). Age groupings are as follows:


	Terminator	7 & 8 year olds

	Atom	9 & 10 year olds

	Pee Wee	11 & 12 year olds

	Minor Bantam	13 years of age

	Bantam	14 years of age

Players 15-17 years of age fall into the Midget division under the Midget Football League of Manitoba (MFLM). Players from 18-22 years of age play in the Manitoba Major Football League.

Over the years of football at Greendell, many Falcon players have gone on to play for the Winnipeg Rifles (Junior), the University of Manitoba Bisons, and various other football programs across Canada, including the CFL. We also have regular representation on our Manitoba Provincial teams who compete against other teams representing their respective provinces.

The goal of the Falcon football program is simple - to offer quality tackle football programming to youth in the community; to offer quality coaching; to develop the skills required to play tackle football, and of course to have fun playing a sport that is perfect for everyone regardless of body shape, size or gender.
