Greendell Park Baseball Program
Registration for U7, U 9 and U11: March 1- April 10
Registration for U13, U15, & U18: March 1-31.
Registration after the closing date will be considered if there is room on a team and a $50 late fee will apply
Greendell Community Centre is part of the Bonivital Baseball Association. Together, we provide each player the opportunity to play baseball in a supportive and rewarding environment that emphasizes fun and skill development at a level that fits the player's interest and ability. In order to play baseball all players will require their own batting helmet and glove. Having their own bat tends to be a preference for U11 and older as is wearing non-metal baseball cleats.
The baseball season starts early May and the regular season wraps up near the end of June (AA & AAA teams finish later in July). For players 11U and older, play-offs will occur after the regular season finishes. We have complied a list of important baseball dates for each age group and level of play: Bonivital Minor Baseball Association - Winnipeg, Manitoba (bonivitalbaseball.ca)
Tryouts for AAA and AA teams will occur April 1-5, 2024 and as soon as those teams are formed, the Community Club teams A teams will be created. Please see below for age groups, registration fee and nights of play:
Level | Birth Years | Days | Registration Fee |

*The significant difference in cost for 18U players is due to their games being played at Whittier Park which is rented by Bonivital Baseball to host the 18U teams. Whittier Park is the only diamond big enough in the Bonivital Catchment to host 18U baseball.
Programs and Age Groups
Rally Cap (7U players born in 2017, 2018 & 2019)
The Rally Cap Program is baseballs initiation program and is designed to enhance players' and coaches' first experience with the game for players 4-7 years old. Teams are typically made up of 6-8 players. Games are played in various diamonds in the Bonivital catchment. You have a choice when registering to select which nights you would like to play (Monday/Wednesday evenings or Tuesday/Thursday evenings).
All Rally Cap players will participate in the Bonivital Jamboree on Saturday June 15, 2024 at Glenwood and Champlain Community Centers. This is a fun filled day of activities, baseball games, food and celebration.
For more information on the Rally Cap program please visit the Baseball Manitoba website at http://www.baseballmanitoba.ca/rally-cap.
Grand Slam (9U players born in 2015 & 2016)
Grand Slam teams are made up of 7-8 players. Game length is established by time, not by innings, with 60 minutes set as the guideline (typically this is a 3-5 inning game). Some rules are modified in Grand Slam to encourage player development. You have a choice when registering to select which nights you would like to play (Monday/Wednesday evenings or Tuesday/Thursday evenings).
All Grand Slam teams will participate in the Bonivital Jamboree on Saturday June 15, 2024 at Glenwood and Champlain Community Centers. This is a fun filled day of activities, baseball games, food and celebration.
For more information on the Grand Slam program please visit the Baseball Manitoba website at http://www.baseballmanitoba.ca/grand-slam.
Age Groups 11U-18U
11U (players born in 2013, 2014)
Games will be played on Monday and Wednesday with some games also played on the weekends (normally on Sundays). As we often have a large number of 11U A players in the Bonivital catchment, we host our own league of BoniVital teams so all games are within the Bonivital neighborhood.
11U teams will all participate in a fun Jamboree on June 8 at Little Mountain Sportsplex. The teams will play baseball games and attend skills sessions offered by Baseball Manitoba.
13U (players born in 2011, 2012)
Games are played on Tuesday and Thursday nights and some Sunday evenings. If we have enough players to host our own Bonivital League, we will do so, if we don’t have enough teams, we join with the Red River Valley Baseball Association to form a league.
15U (players born in 2009, 2010).
Game nights will vary but typically will be Monday and Wednesday evening with occasional weekend games. BoniVital often joins with the Red River Valley Baseball Association to form a league so the players have ample opportunity for competition.
18U (players born in 2008, 2007 & 2006)
18 U A ball has games on varying nights. Bonivital players are grouped together onto teams based on the number of players who register. Typically, players from the same community club are kept together. Home games are played at Whittier Park baseball diamond.
*As per Baseball Manitoba regulations, girls can play an extra year/be an over aged player at each group starting at 11U
Not all age groups will be hosted out of Greendell Community Center. If we do not get enough registrations to form our own team, Greendell players in that age group will be moved together onto a team at a neighboring Community Center.
Competitive Baseball Levels
11U has two competitive levels (A & AA)
13U/15U/18U has three competitive levels
AAA – high level of performance and coaching,
AA – Competitive baseball, playing in a city wide league,
A – Recreational house league baseball where no tryouts are required.)
Any players in U11 division or older who would like to try out for a AA or AAA Bonivital Baseball team, tryouts will occur at the University of Winnipeg between April 1-5 For more information and to register for the try out for your age group, please click here: https://bonivitalbaseball.ca/program-information/tryout-information/
Coaches and Parent Volunteers
Coaches are the cornerstone of the sport experience for young players and thus essential for the success of youth sport programs in our community. If you are interested in volunteering as a coach in 2024, please contact our baseball convenor. Ideally, we like to have three coaches willing to volunteer from each team. It makes the practices and games much more active and “many hands definitely make light work”.
If you have any questions about Baseball at Greendell Park Community Center please contact the Baseball Convenor:
