The Timbits Tot Soccer Program is for children aged 4, 5, and 6. This means that for Spring 2025, players born in 2021, 2020, or 2019 are eligible to register. The focus of this program is on fun & participation while helping children develop physical literacy & basic soccer skills while meeting new friends in their community

When and where does all the fun happen?

Games are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:15 pm to 7:15 pm at St Vital Park. The fields are located southeast of the playground between the perimeter road and River Road, hidden behind a large row of trees. If weather/fields are not suitable, a cancellation email is sent to families as late as 5:30 pm that same game day. The season begins the first week of May (weather permitting) and ends near the end of June.

How much does this cost?

$105 per player. The Tim Horton sponsorship gives each child a soccer ball and a

participation medal. Timbits team jerseys are borrowed and returned at the end of the season.

What other equipment will my child need?

Your child needs shin guards, long soccer socks, running shoes, and a water bottle.

IMPORTANT: Your child must wear long, soccer socks OVER shin guards for their safety and to prevent injuring other players. * Soccer trick: If your child says shin guards are uncomfortable against their skin, make a pair of thin tubes to wear UNDER shin guards by cutting the foot off of tights, old leggings, or knee-high socks.

Teams of Players, Parents, and Coaches

Each team is formed with players from different ages & genders and is led by 2 or more volunteer coaches.

Greendell depends on parents offering to volunteer as coaches to make the season successful for children.

** Please sign up to be a coach helper. You’ll have more FUN than you ever expected!**

- Each evening begins with 20-minutes of skills games followed by game play with another team.

- Line changes happen about every 5 minutes to allow for rest and water breaks.

- During games, the coaches of both teams remain on the field to guide and encourage kids to play safely.

Canada Soccer’s Stage 1 - Active Start guidelines for 4 to 6-year-olds require parent participation to ensure children are having fun and playing safely.

PARENTS are required to participate on the field for the first 20 minutes during the skills games to help children follow their coaches’ directions, practice skills, and manage their own behaviours. It’s also a HUGE help to coaches if parents help chase stray balls and cheer respectfully.

If you have any questions, please call Greendell’s office during the day at 204-257-6883 or email: office.gpcc@mymts.net

We hope you are looking forward to spending time outdoors with your family in our community.
